Founded by Jerome Audureau and Frank Mentesana in 1990, Once Upon a Tart has been beloved by the community from its inception. In 2015, Chef Alicia Walter and Michael Stern purchased the Tart and transformed it into two distinct storefronts, one houses the coffee and bakeshop and the other is a casual neighborhood restaurant.
Our classic baked goods are available in the coffee and bakeshop seven days a week - and we're proud of the upgrade to organic eggs and milk in all of our recipes. We've also added vegan and gluten-free options to the repertoire.
In the restaurant, our menu and wine list skew French and Italian. Dishes found their way to the menu via memories from wayward travels, favorite meals from our childhood and from pages of forgotten cookbooks. We're serving satisfying dishes made with fine ingredients in a homey atmosphere.
